I hope to post at least one new drawing on this blog every day.

I’ve decided to move all of my various projects to my main site so I’ll remember to update them, and people who dig my art can learn about my music, and vice-versa.

Drawings Everyday will be HERE from now on!

Thanks for following.

This guy could be a grizzled archaeolgist, a Roman legionaire, a star cruiser captain, or a noble paladin.

Brush and Ink on Bristol

Brush and Ink on Bristol

I’m not terribly satisfied with this one. I started my drawing way too late and ended up changing my subject when I realized that I’m too tired and distracted to handle foreshortening well. The inking was done with a 00 Sable mix brush, so it was a learning experience if nothing else.

Meditations on my September drawings

with one comment

  • Alternatively attractive people are more fun to draw than pretty people.
  • I like clean lines and bold areas of pure black more than I like chaotic hatching.
  • I don’t do as well when I’m tired or distracted.
  • I need to be happy with the penciling before I start inking.
  • Sometimes my symbols for eyes and nostrils still get in the way of the way something “really” looks, and I need to work on that.
  • Sometimes the way something “really” looks gets in the way things “should” look, and I need to work on that as well.
