I’ve decided to move all of my various projects to my main site so I’ll remember to update them, and people who dig my art can learn about my music, and vice-versa.

Drawings Everyday will be HERE from now on!

Thanks for following.

Meditations on my September drawings

with one comment

  • Alternatively attractive people are more fun to draw than pretty people.
  • I like clean lines and bold areas of pure black more than I like chaotic hatching.
  • I don’t do as well when I’m tired or distracted.
  • I need to be happy with the penciling before I start inking.
  • Sometimes my symbols for eyes and nostrils still get in the way of the way something “really” looks, and I need to work on that.
  • Sometimes the way something “really” looks gets in the way things “should” look, and I need to work on that as well.

Day 10: No Reference

I was having a bit of trouble finding a reference photo to draw from tonight, so I decided to attempt a drawing from memory. This girl is from my imagination, and looks to me like a composite of Jean Seaberg, Reese Witherspoon and Twiggy. Huh.

I guess this means that I can draw semi-realistic frontal faces passably well without a reference photo.
